    Objectives:

     

    1. Students can give their opinions on what low carbon life is.
    2. Students can share their opinions on how to make the world a better place through low carbon living at home, at school, in the community, and on the street.
    3. Students can recognize and be able to use the new
      vocabulary properly.

     

    Vocabulary:

     

    低碳、生活、行动、能量、排放

     

    Activity 1: Brainstorm

     

    What is a low carbon life?

     

    Activity 2: Read and learn

     

    Low carbon life

     

    Activity 3: Group work

     

    1. How can we make the world a better place through living a low carbon life? (at home, at school, in the community, and on the street)
    2. Present your ideas in front of the class.

     

  • LESSON 2

     

    Objectives:

     

    1. Students can list the things they can do to protect the environment
      and live a low carbon life.
    2. Students can recognize and properly use the new vocabulary.

    Activity 1: Warm up

     

    1. Review Chinese characters and sentence structures learned
      from the last lesson.
    2. What is a low carbon life?

     

    Activity 2: Read and learn

     

    What can we do to protect the environment and have a low carbon
    living life style?

     

    Activity 3: Discussion

     

    What can you do to protect the environment in order to live a

    low carbon life?

     

    Activity 4: Presentation

     

    Present your ideas in front of the class.

     

  • LESSON 3

     

    Objectives:

     

    1. Students can identify what is in the trash that they generate in a day.
    2. List ways to reduce waste and explain why reduction is important.
    3. Students can recognize and properly use the new vocabulary.

     

    Vocabulary:

     

    制造、厨余、可回收、有害、其它、方便、处理

     

    Activity 1: Warm up

    Activity 2: Survey

     

    Interview 5 classmates in one minutes and find out:

    1. What is in the trash they generate in a day?
    2. What type of trash do they make the most of in a day?

    Sort the rubbish

     

    Activity 4: Discussion

     

    1. Why do we sort trash?
    2. How do you sort trash?

     

    Activity 5: Presentation

     

    Make a presentation to tell everybody why and how to sort trash.

    Objectives:

     

    1. Students can distinguish between reduce, reuse, and recycle.
    2. Students can list ways to reduce waste and explain why waste reduction is important.
    3. Students can list ways to reuse materials and why reusing is important.
    4. Students can recognize and properly use the new vocabulary.

     

    Vocabulary:

     

    危险、省钱、不同、方法、餐具、袋子、对···有帮助

     

    Activity 1: Warm up

     

    1. Review Chinese characters and sentence structures learned
      from the last lesson.
    2. Students can explain how to sort trash and why sorting trash
      is important.

     

    Activity 2: Discussion

     

    1. How to reduce the everyday amount of trash generated in
      a day and why this is important.
    2. How to reuse used items and why this is important.

     

    Activity 3: Presentation

     

    Share your ideas on reduce and reuse with the whole class.

    Objectives:

     

    1. Students can share their green habits to help protect the environment.
    2. Students can state the significance of protecting the environment.
    3. Students can recognize and properly use the new vocabulary.
