    Objectives:

     

    1. Student can understand and answer the teacher’s questions,
      “Do you use your mobile phones to…?  And why?”
    2. After a discussion, students can present what they can do with
      mobile phones.
    3. Students can recognize and properly use the new vocabulary.

    Activity 1: Warm up

     

    1. Review Chinese characters and sentence structures learned
      from the last lesson.
    2. List the criteria for selecting a mobile phone.

     

    Activity 2: Ask and answer

     

    Teach new words to students by asking students questions such as,
    “Do you use your mobile phones to…? And why?”

     

    Activity 3: Discussion and presentation

     

    First discuss in groups “What can we do on mobile phones?” and
    then present to the rest of the students.

      of mobile phones on our lives.
    2. After a discussion, students can list the pros and cons of
      mobile phones.
    3. Students can share their opinions on the pros and cons of
      the mobile phones and can debate with others on this topic.
    4. Students can identify the main idea and some supporting
      details in the video resources on this topic.
    5. Students can recognize and properly use the new vocabulary.

    Activity 3: Games

     

    Compound the sentence

    1. These are all the sentence patterns you have learned on this topic:      不管···,都···     对···来说,···     ···对···有帮助     ···甚至···(Optional)
    2. Give each student one worksheet and a sentence paper strip, each paper has either one sentence or a word. There are 4 different sentence patterns and 16 sentences and words, two sentences or words can combine into one sentence using the related sentence pattern. (Print Sentence paper strip in advance)
    3. Students can take turns reading aloud the sentence or word they
      got while the other students listen carefully to figure out whose sentence or word matches the one being read aloud using a certain sentence pattern.
    4. After all of the students are finished reading their sentences out loud, they can take turns reading the sentences and words out loud again one by one. After every student reads, wait ten seconds for the matching sentence to respond. If the response is correct, have students read the combined sentence twice; every student should write that this sentence down on their worksheet. If there is no response or if the response in incorrect, the next student can read his/her sentence.
    5. Continue to go around the classroom until all sentences have been matched with their pair.

     

    Charades

    1. The teacher divides students into groups of 6-7 students and gives
      each student one “card” which will have a vocabulary word on it, such as “品牌,考虑,因素,价钱,外观,功能,进行,社交,照相,自拍,购物,安全,微博,健康,利弊,危害,关机,这样”. (One student may need 1-2 cards, depending on the number of people in the group.)
    2. Students in each group will take turns acting out the vocabulary word on the card using only body movements without speaking.  The other students in the group must guess the word. When someone correctly guesses the word through the performer saying,”是”or “不是”, the student who answered correctly get to keep the card.
    3. The top five students who get most cards win.

     

    Activity 4: Writing

     

    Story Creator

    1. Please create a short story using patterns and vocabulary you have learned in this topic.
    2. You must have at least 6 images within the app. To accompany each picture they must have text and audio.
    3. The story should answer the following questions.
    • 你有手机吗?你有什么品牌的手机?
    • 在选手机时,你会考虑什么因素?
    • 对你来说,手机有什么用途?
    • 手机对你的生活有什么影响?
    • 手机的利弊是什么?
    • 我们应该如何使用手机?
